  • Basic Choreography

  • Basic Improvisation

Nathan T. Wheeler is currently a PhD student in the top-ranked Department of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's prestigious School of Education. He is studying innovative 21st century approaches to how people learn, with a particular emphasis on the process of learning through ensemble-based literary adaptation (from page to stage and screen), as well as making devised theater. In

addition to interests in performance pedagogy and learning science, other scholarly pursuits include: collaboration; innovation, cognitive science, informal learning environments; instructional design; technology and online learning; human development and public intellectualism.

He was the Program Director in Theater & Performance Studies and Head of Acting at the highly selective St. Margaret’s Episcopal School (SMES, acceptance rate 20%) in Orange County, CA for a decade, where he tripled student class enrollments in 3 years and has built a multiple award-winning department recognized regionally for artistic excellence. This record of achievement directly contributed to the fundraising success and opening of a $20 Million state-of-the-art, 45,000-square-foot Performing Arts Center in 2012, which is also designated one of 14 ‘All-Steinway Schools for Excellence’ in the world.  The facility now boasts a 6-production season staffed by industry professionals with robust budgets, and houses a thriving arts community.
